I recently saw an advertisement on television for a device called “Spot.” This gadget, which is about the size of a cell phone, is just about the coolest thing since the first GPS unit I purchassed. It embodies the scout motto “Be Prepared.”

If you venture into the woods, there is always the possibility of being lost for finding yourself in an emergency situation. Knowing your priorities ahead of time is important. BuffaloEagle lists the “rule of 3’s” in his blog at http://buffaloeagle.wordpress.com/2007/11/17/rule-of-3s/ . For example, food is way down the list.
